Often it's only a hand-drawn sketch of their future PET bottle which clients bring with them to show the experts at Hengxin. Sometimes not even that. This is when the bottle designers' intution comes to play: in discussions with the client, the salient bottle features like diameter, heigt, label size and of course the bottle volume are decided upon. An initial draft design of the bottle thus evolves, this time not on paper, but in a computer, with the help of 2D and 3D software.

The aim of any bottle development project is to create a product which has the munimum amount of material to exhibit. The material costs account near 80% of bottle's total costs. When you are dealing with bottle weights of 20 to 60 g and speeds more than 30,000 bottles an hour, a few grams less sequently mean enormous savings.
